Every Drawing Tells a Story - Ysgol Glannau Gwaun
Working with 2 year 5 classes, we started with quick direct observational drawings looking at parts of their class room that they thought wouldn’t be found elsewhere in the town. We decided that if people were to see them, they would be able to know that there were about a school, and that they told people outside of the school a little about their class.
What lucky children, having a school right ontop of a hill that overlooks the sea. It was beautiful to hear them talking about their appreciation of the sea. For many of them they don’t know anything different than sea view, yet they are grateful for it.
Brilliant to see the teachers having a go at breaktime. Well done to Mr Wilcox! – showing his staff how its done! Tea and coffee I think was on everyone’s minds in the staff room! A moment of calm! After break we were outside, taking in the fresh air and the panoramic views of countryside, mountains and sea that can be seen from the playground. And didn’t they do well!?
We ended the morning with colour. The pupils colouring in a drawing that we aim to turn into an animation....watch this space!
