Hermon Chapel

When I first set foot in Hermon Chapel, prior to the workshop, Hedydd, who showed me around, sounded a little appologetic for how simple and minimal the Chapel was compared to the other churches in the area. Being a non-conformistChapel its decoration is supposed to be sparce, minimal and plain, however on closer inspection, once one started to draw, there was a lot of tracery and mouldings, features that forced you to maintain absolute concentration when drawing. The minimal yet repetitious flowing forms gave a very traditional sence of pride and solidity. It was a fascinating workshop!
