The Big Draw Awards, London

WE WON THE FOUNDERS AWARD FOR THE BIG DRAW!!!!!!!!!!! It is thanks to The Big Draw that I 'caught the bug' for Community Engagement Art Projects back in 2012. Inspired by their passion for drawing, encouraging all to have a go and the diversity and fun had whilst doing so, Fishguard and Goodwick have since been (thankfully) willing participants for my creative outbursts. It was a HUGE honor to be recognised by them, and so joined by Jane, Philip, Joe and Peter, we made the pilgrimage to London to accept our award.

London was intense! A beautiful moment was had, when armed with sketchbooks enroute to the Victoria Miro Gallery we stopped and drew some interesting buildings, of no real significance, but fascinating once we started to draw. Using drawing to ground ourselves and connect with the city that we are so far removed from was a moment that I will treasure for ever.

Inspired by the exhibitions, pace of life and the other winners at the award ceremony, we have returned to Pembrokeshire with an ignited enthusiasm to carry us through to the final chapter of this award winning project. Thank you very much The Big Draw!
